Are you ready to meet Friday's performers?
"Through the Gate on Friday, a Festival in the Amphitheater"
After the grand opening of the first festival evening at 6:00 PM, the Trnava-based folklore ensembles DFS Drienka, DFS Trnavček, and UFS Trnafčan will set the stage for a fantastic atmosphere in the program block “Bárskedy, bársčo, bársjako” (Anytime, Anything, Anyhow). None of these collectives are resting on their laurels. DFS Trnavček toured the International Youth Folklore Festival Primorsko in Bulgaria this summer, earning the Laureate award. The ensemble also boasts prestigious awards from the national competition Vidiečanova Habovka – one gold and two silver bands. This year, Trnavček celebrates a vibrant 25 years since its inception. University Folklore Ensemble Trnafčan represented their homeland at the Kozara Etno international festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina and will also perform during the third weekend of August at the unique Slovak folklore festival in Rožnov pod Radhoštem – Jánošíkov dukát. After the summer season, the members are not facing well-deserved rest but diligent rehearsals for the ensemble's 40th anniversary. At Trnavská Brána, they have prepared a diverse program for the audience, each bringing a piece of traditional art that will showcase the beauty and diversity of especially West Slovak folklore.

A Jewel from the Heart of Slovakia
On the heated stage floor, folklorists from the heart of Slovakia – from Rozsutec – will also frolic beautifully and charmingly at 7:30 PM. The Rozsutec Folklore Ensemble, founded in 1965, is among the jewels of Slovak folklore. Its rich repertoire includes regions such as Kysuce, Orava, Liptov, Horehronie, Myjava, and Zemplín. Their performances are considered a celebration of local traditions, which they convey to stages around the world with feeling and artistic precision. Why Terchová music, singing, and dance win the hearts of audiences at home and abroad is something you must discover for yourselves.

Global Stars at the Peak of the Evening
From west to center and finally to the east. Friday's program will smoothly carry viewers across Slovakia. The evening will conclude at 9:00 PM with the vocal group ICONITO from Zemplín. Iconito has been gracing our music scene for ten years. In 2017, the lead singer of the band No Name - Igor Timko - became the group's producer. A year later, the band played as a "pre-band" on the last tour to date of the band ELÁN. Their quality is evidenced by the fact that they have completed a total of 3 working trips to the USA, where they played in New Jersey, Washington, and Chicago. They also have no shortage of full houses – as evidenced by twice sold-out Bratislava Stars Auditorium shows. To top it off, the evening will also be enlivened by the voices of singers from FS Zemplín, stemming from the Korene (Roots) project. This project, dedicated to Slovak folklore in a modern guise, brings the song and beauty of our traditions with a new, fresh breath.
